My grandmother’s blind—she had a tumor years ago and when she had surgery, she woke up and couldn’t see anymore. Over time, she developed the ability to see in certain spots and colors. But she can only see light against dark so when I wear no pants with black leotards, she can see my legs. She would watch TV or my grandfather would put her on the Internet and she’d say, ‘Oh I can see her legs, there are her little legs.’ It was like this funny sort of cute thing—I wear no pants so my grandma can see me on TV. It’s true.
